Gaia is a young American street artist, whose work shows a sophistication far beyond his years. Gaia often works on a huge scale to depict his subjects, always managing to capture great depth of emotion via the delicate tracery of his lino-cut pieces…not a show to be missed!

We arent going to go on and on about how awesome he is, if you dont know, get to know him… and his art..
He’s a bit of a Legend..
2 + 2 = four very talented and contrasting artists and styles. Two being stencil artists alongside two more traditional painters. Also two of the group are well known to fans of the gallery, while the other two are new. As normal, we curate our group shows to demonstrate the range of work that we show, as well as breaking down the barriers between artistic labels such as ‘Urban,’ ‘Street,’ and ‘Fine’ art. We have given the artists a free reign to produce work that is currently exciting them and the result will be a dynamic mix of ideas, techniques and approaches.
A visually compelling show formed solely from text and pattern based pieces, Write and Repeat is a modern exploration of the two much celebrated forms.
Patterns are all around us. The repetition of shapes and colours form our environment, our natural and manmade landscapes. Even the landscape of our minds are built upon patterns and repetition; the habits and rituals, the ‘rites’ that we perpetuate.
New York-based artist Dan Witz makes his solo debut with Lazarides at our Rathbone Place gallery with Prisoners 2012-2013, displaying paintings from both his Prisoner and Mosh Pit series.
Dan Witz has been at the forefront of artists working on the street since the late 1970s. Combining digital reproduction with the old master’s technique of illusionism, the artist’s lifelike figures appear as if from nowhere on signposts, walls, windows and manhole covers across the world. Painted and layered over digital photographs, each image is designed to surprise the viewer, taking them aback and from the expected into an alarming state of disbelief.

There’s never been a better time to be a young lady, thinks Brazilian artist Nina Pandolfo (almost certainly correctly). Her Spice Angels portraits are part Manga, part bandes desinées, and part fashion illustration presented with all the lurid and enthralling fantasy of feminist novelist Angela Carter. These large, ambitious canvases in beguiling bright pastels will bring a balmy dollop of sunshine to The Outsiders Newcastle this January.

Introducing the up and coming street artist RAE, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. This will be his first show in London. The artists says:
‘Nocturnal Trips’ means everything and nothing about how art relates to my existence. In a literal sense, it deals with the the “trips” I take to install the work I put up on the streets at night and how the city seems a lot different when your scheming as opposed to getting a latte.

This weekend the fun is for Street Art in Miami and check out some of our recommendations (Best Miami Street Art: BSA Picks Awesomest for Basel ’12) for hoofing it around that we posted Wednesday. Tonight of course there are a number of grand opening parties/after parties (including Fountain), but really just being on the street is equally fun if not funner! Greeting cards are a nice way to say Merry Christmas to Grandma, and for suburban white middle class families to distribute photos proving that their kids are not on drugs. This is Stolen Space Christmas Show celebrates greetings cards and holiday cheer with D*Face, Word to Mother, Will Barras and David Bray among others putting their own imprimatur on Christmas. Come on, Uncle Bert and Aunt Dolittle will be there, so comb your hair, put some shoes on and get out of the house!

With a collection of Australian Graffiti and Street Art Artists, “Rinse & Repeat” finds its inspiration by taking a look at the Old Masters and re-interpreting them with their own styles and techniques. An interesting proposition albeit fraught with risks – there are a few good ones here though that will delight your academic/street sensibilities. Included in the line up are: Adnate (AWOL Crew), Bridge Stehli, Cam Wall, Carl Steffan, Deams (AWOL Crew), Fintan Magee, Guido van Helten, Phibs, Shannon Crees, Slicer (AWOL Crew) , Team and Teazer.

Hope they realize what they have gotten themselves into, but Vertikal Gallery is hosting Brooklyn Street Art collective Skewville for a solo show entitled “Be Inside”. Considering we have had one or two Lillians in Brooklyn putting work up on the streets over the last few years, this sounds like a cultural exchange program of some kind, right?

The Art Collective Just Seeds new group exhibition titled “Sowing The Seeds of Love” opens tonight at the Munch Gallery in Manhattan. This Winter, StolenSpace presents ‘Deck The Walls’, a Christmas Group Show celebrating the art of the Greetings Card. The show will be unveiled for the first time on Thursday 6th December, and will open with an exclusive evening of festive folly. Featuring brand-new originals from the likes of D*Face, David Bray, Will Barras, Word to Mother, and many, many more, this is a must-see showcase from some of the most exciting artists on the scene.
‘Deck The Walls’ is a celebration of the Greetings Card in all its splendour. From the time they arrived in London in 1843, Greetings Cards have been an overlooked artform, and have changed drastically in nature. The early Egyptians used papyrus scrolls; we use Moonpig and horrific family photos.
The show’s original pieces will include reworked vintage designs, religious and holy depictions, and newly imagined traditional scenes. Using a range of different media, our artists share their unique Christmas vision with canvas, wood, paper, and collage.

Get Up Get Down is delighted to present Italian artists James Kalinda and Centina for the UK launch of the photobook Atroce and their first ever exhibition on British shores.
James Kalinda and Centina are two radical urban artists reviving abandoned buildings throughout Europe with large-scale yet hidden artworks. In contrast to street art convention they consciously and selflessly seek out obscure and inhospitable locations, painting large-scale portraits that will only ever be seen by a handful of people.
Atroce is a collection of vivid and atmospheric photographs that captures not only their finished artworks but also the thrills, spills and dangers that brought them to be. In addition to chronicling the abandoned warehouses, factories, and churches that formed the canvases for this series of subversive portraits, Atroce also exposes the often eerie and bleak surroundings in which these ruins exist.
Combining the thrill of urban exploration with an inherent love for painting, Atroce provides an intriguing insight into the minds of two of Italy’s most provocative urban artists today.
For their first UK exhibition James Kalinda and Centina will present an installation of trademark portraits alongside a selection of original drawings, photographs and videos that helped to form the making of Atroce.
To celebrate its UK release the first 25 copies of the book will include an exclusive limited edition screenprint signed by the artists.

James Kalinda is a multidisciplinary artist from Parma, Italy. His art can be found on the walls of abandoned buildings across Europe, sometimes alone, sometimes in collaboration with other members of the Italian urban art fraternity. In addition to using abandoned buildings as his canvas, James Kalinda is also a sculptor, videographer and exceptional tattoo artist. He signs his work with an empty comic strip bubble.
Centina is a trained carpenter, artist and self-proclaimed art misfit from Parma, Italy. Neglecting the use of spray paint Centina prefers to use brushes and acrylics to make his dark creations, painted almost always in abandoned buildings throughout Europe. In his own words: “I love drawing in abandoned places, Godless and forgotten by those who once inhabited them.”

Lucas Price
T E A M Atlas is a solo exhibition by London based artist Lucas Price. The exhibition will open at the Rove Gallery, Hoxton Square 7th – 21st December.
The title Team Atlas is an acronym, (The Earth As My Atlas), which refers to the idea of mapping and cataloguing using images and text.
The show will exhibit a series of new works, comprising oil paintings and carbon and graphite drawings.
Images of plants, statues of Jesus, basketballs, text taken from Ghostface Killah lyrics and personal writings come together to develop new narratives and relationships.
Price is one of very few artists to be accepted onto the Royal College of Art’s MFA painting course without any prior training or qualification. This exhibition will show a culmination of work created during his time spent at the college; building on an artistic path that has led from graffiti, being invited to appear in Banksy’s Oscar nominated film “Exit”, via fashion and design to the RCA. Along with Barry McGee, Kaws et al, Price’s work bridges the gap between fine art and the world of so called “street culture”.
